Heather Tsarfati
Heather Tsarfati is a pelvic health and orthopaedic physiotherapist with more than 20 years of clinical experience and the owner of All Things Pelvic. She is also the owner of Physio at Hand, a mobile physiotherapy practice providing in-home care throughout the Kitchener-Waterloo region.
Heather's clinical background is rooted in outpatient orthopaedics, where she spent many years assessing and treating a wide range of conditions including occupational and non-occupational injuries, motor vehicle accident (MVA) rehabilitation, and recreational and "weekend warrior" injuries. She has worked as an Advanced Practice Physiotherapist within the Orthopaedic Assessment Centre for Hip and Knee Arthritis in the Waterloo Region, collaborating closely with orthopaedic surgeons to support evidence-based assessment, conservative management, and surgical triage.
Over time, Heather's practice has evolved to include a strong focus on pelvic health physiotherapy. She has completed comprehensive pelvic health training (Levels 1–3) and advanced education in pregnancy-related and pelvic girdle pain. Her orthopaedic foundation informs a whole-body, movement-based approach to pelvic health, recognizing the interplay between musculoskeletal loading, the nervous system, and persistent pain.
Heather has pursued extensive post-graduate education in manual therapy, acupuncture, pain science, and advanced clinical reasoning. She is registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and is rostered with the College to perform internal pelvic examinations and acupuncture. She has also completed formal education in pessary care for physiotherapists and additional structured training in pessary fitting, follow-up, and management within pelvic health practice settings.
In 2025, Heather began serving as a Lab Assistant with Pelvic Health Solutions, supporting Level 1 pelvic health physiotherapy education. In this role, she assists with hands-on lab sessions for The Physical Therapy Approach to Anyone Experiencing Urinary Incontinence, helping support clinicians as they develop foundational pelvic health assessment and treatment skill.
In the same year, Heather completed a year-long mentorship program, My Year of Mentoring: A Practical Pelvic Health Playbook, through Reframe Rehab, emphasizing the application of a biopsychosocial and trauma-informed approach to pelvic health care. This mentorship deepened her clinical work in areas including nervous system regulation, the use of outcome measures in pelvic pain, the RAMS framework (Relaxation, Activation, Mobility, Strength), endometriosis, bowel health, male pelvic health, virtual care, pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain, and pain education for labour and delivery.
At All Things Pelvic, Heather is committed to providing thoughtful, individualized care that is grounded in evidence, informed by lived experience, and responsive to the complexity of pelvic health concerns across the lifespan.
Heather lives in Kitchener with her husband and three children. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors, walking, and staying active.
